Macomb County Habitat for Humanity
Macomb County Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit Christian housing organization dedicated to building and rehabbing decent, affordable housing in partnership with qualified partner families in Macomb County. We aim to help revitalize struggling neighborhoods, while helping to ensure that Macomb County is a thriving, vital area that businesses and homeowners are eager to explore. Trained construction managers, site hosts, volunteers and donations of funding, materials and trades services combine to build or rehab these simple, decent, homes. The completed homes are then sold to qualified partner families who have invested over 250 "sweat equity" hours. In turn, they receive a 0% mortgage. This process yeilds a much more affordable payment, most averaging between $450-$550 including taxes and insurance. These payments go into a revolving fund that is used to help offset the cost of future homes for Macomb County families that need a "Hand Up".
