ALS of Michigan - Lou Gehrig's Disease is dedicated to helping people with ALS (pALS), their families, and caregivers live life as fully as possible. ALS is a progressive degenerative neuromuscular disease that robs a person, over a relatively short period of time, of their ability to move, speak, swallow, and eventually breathe. As of today there is no known cause, treatment, or cure. For more than 34 years ALS of Michigan has been providing a full complement of community based programs and services which include: *Respite Care Assistance *Augmentative and Alternative Communication Services *Durable Medical Equipment Loan Closet *Support Groups *Workshops & Seminars *Information and Referral Services *Social Work Support *...and much, much more.
