Tarrant Literacy Coalition

This video was made for the Tarrant Literacy Coalition by student intern Trilby Argubright from Texas Christian University in the spring and summer of 2012. Trilby visited our Project BEST classes for GED students at the White Settlement Family Resource Center and met many of our students, whom you’ll see in the video. These men and women come to class on Tuesday and Thursday nights, after working hard all day at low-paying jobs, because they want to get their GED and make a better life for themselves and their children. Their commitment to learn is incredible. Most of them dropped out of school in the 9th or 10th grade, often because of family problems or the need to get a job to put food on the table. Now, they realize that the path to prosperity is education. For many, it is long road, as they have been out of school for many years. But their dedication and determination is amazing! We invite you to join us in this wonderful adventure as we help these students achieve their goals.
