Santa Cruz Islands, Channel Islands National Park, CA: Just before this moment, the young female seagull has begged the father for a regurgitated feeding, but the male has stood his ground to encourage dietary independence. Here the female resigns to no longer being "spoon fed" (or shall we say "beak fed"??!??!)
