What is the McDougall Community Contest?

This McDougall Community Contest is open to non-profit organizations and community groups across Ontario! Now in our 11th year, we're excited to be able to award three prizes worth a total of $10,000 to local community projects. You could be a 2024 winner!

Fun Fact: Each and every video submission we receive will have a chance at winning the grand prize. Since this is a community contest, you do not have to be a McDougall Insurance client to enter! Once the voting round begins it will be up to the community to cast their votes and ultimately select our winners.

A few more examples may include a rescue farm, community garden, upgrades to a community centre or perhaps you want to help build a splash pad at a local park. Get creative, just make sure you submit a video explaining how your project benefits your community! The possibilities are endless and your community will thank you. 

How does the McDougall Community Contest work?

We are so glad you asked- It’s very easy!

·     1. Put together a short video (Max. 2 Minutes) about your organization, explaining who you are, what your community project is, what you would do with the prize money and your action plan.

·     Video submissions will be accepted from May 1st – May 23rd. Remember that videos don’t need to be professional. We just want to see what your project is all about!

·     Every eligible video that is submitted will be included in the contest. Some restrictions apply.

·    Voting begins May 24th - May 31st. This is where the fun begins. All video submissions will be open to the public to view and vote for their favourite community project. In order to vote you need to use Google Chrome or Fire Fox. Internet Explorer and Safari are not compatible with the platform.

·     The winners of the three prizes valued at $10,000 total will be announced on Monday, June 3rd!
