From There to Here

The Price Hill neighborhoods of Cincinnati, OH are known for the rich history of German and Irish immigrants. Over time, the neighborhood has seen influxes of immigrants from other parts of the United States (Urban Appalachian, African-American) and all over the world. Most recently, the neighborhood has seen an increase in Guatemalan immigrants, several of whom have opened stores and restaurants in the neighborhood. The Price Hill Historical Society and Museum, in partnership with the Santa Maria International Welcome Center, Church of Our Saviour / La Iglesia de Nuestro Salvador Cincinnati, and Price Hill Will, is working to create an interactive website to tell the stories of immigrants to our neighborhood. The website will give recent immigrants a place to share their stories of why and how they came to Price Hill. It will also give long-time residents a chance to share the immigration stories of their own families. Through these stories, we aim to bridge the gap of language and culture to find common ground in our love for our chosen home.
