The Enterprise Center
Philly's food scene is booming and The Enterprise Center (TEC) family of organizations is bringing the benefits of this boom to under-served communities. Last year, our farm grew 1600 lbs of fresh produce at 46th and Walnut, while our CSA distributed 18,000 lbs to 110 families, including those most in need. Our Center for Culinary Enterprises opened in 2012 and has already created more than 36 new food ventures and 68 full time jobs, including 24 for low-income individuals. On the financing side, our Capital Corporation has 5 existing loans of $175,000 to food businesses. On June 13, TEC is raising the bar once again with the launch of ELevate!, a business accelerator with training, coaching, and co-working space. Despite these successes, TEC needs to find a way to communicate a cohesive, holistic picture of our diverse food business services and, in turn, generate a reliable pipeline of clients, partners, and funders. A year’s worth of marketing services will help TEC & food entrepreneurs boost job growth and maybe even catch lightning – or at least the latest food product – in a bottle.
