Big Love on the Big Island
My daughter had been recently been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and a trip to Hawaii did not seem possible. After a few months of reality and a great summer at disbetes camp we knew everything was possible! My mom really wanted to see all of the Big Island, and on our way to see the Kilawea volcano we stopped at the black sand beach. As my mom and daughter stepped up to the shoreline I turned around to the amazing shot you see. Capturing this moment during a truly life changing vacation was and will always special. Phil Burns
