Walkies
This is my wife and Hobak Meoli (literally "gourd head" in Korean). I was a week out from shooting a short film when Hobak came to live with us, and with last-minute preproduction consuming every moment, the introduction of a new kitten did not make things less hectic--particularly at three in the morning when he decided our toes were his new toys and our faces existed purely for the purpose of rubbing his face and butt against. We actually shot the film over Mother's Day Weekend, and afterwards, my wife began taking Hobak on daily walks around the yard on a leash. That's right. We walk our cats. Because we're awesome. These walks quickly became Hobak's favorite thing in the world, and he has a way of letting us know, just by looking at us with those big golden eyes, if we have not been giving him an appropriate amount of walkies. Once outside, he never comes in of his own accord, so my wife always has to pick him up and carry him back inside when his time is up. This photo was taken at just such a moment, my wife burying her face in the softness of Hobak's rabbit-like pelt while he continues to gaze, wide-eyed in wonder at the world around him. Hobak now has two brothers, Rollo Tomasi and Milky Joe, both of whom have drastically cut into his walking time. But he's learning to share.
