CAP Makes College Dreams Reality

Students, teachers, counselors from Pasadena’s John Muir High School discuss the positive impact that College Access Plan's (CAP) programs has on planning and preparation for college. The individualized attention that CAP gives its high school students guides them through the process of finding the right schools to apply to, preparing to take standardized tests, completing the college applications accurately, writing compelling personal statements, and helping them obtain financial aid. College Access Plan has reached over 2000 students in its first five years. And over 80% of the students that regularly attend CAP's classes, workshops, and drop-in sessions have entered four year universities. Because of the program's past success, CAP has been asked to expand its services to two additional Pasadena high schools this academic year. A Bridging the GAP award will help us fulfill this request. Thank you for consideration and support.
