USC Troy Camp

USC Troy Camp is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and the official philanthropy of the University of Southern California. As a mentorship program, we connect USC undergraduates with children from the local community. Every year we put on a weeklong summer camp, daily after-school tutoring, and weekend field trips for approximately 200 deserving children. Every aspect of the organization, from camp programming to financing, is completely run by USC undergraduate students. All of the USC Troy Camp programs, including the week at camp, are provided free of charge for every participating child. The USC Troy Camp experience begins each May with our weeklong summer camp Idyllwild Pines in Idyllwild, California. At camp, Troy Camp counselors work in various roles (cabin counselors, specialists, and support staff) to offer new and rewarding experiences to campers. We aim to maintain a positive and supportive environment so that campers can take a break from the hardships they face in their daily lives and simply enjoy a carefree week of summer camp. Every day, campers participate in different activities like swimming, performing arts, outdoor exploration, hiking, team sports, arts and crafts, community service projects, horseback riding, camp-wide activities, nightly campfires, and a chance to sleep under the stars. We facilitate programs that expand our campers’ horizons by exposing them to new activities, reinforcing the importance of education, and pursuing their dreams.
